Pierre Robert, WMMR radio personality, dies at 70

We lost a wonderful friend today. Someone who had a genuine passion for music. every kind of music. Someone who had a passion for musicians. Not just well-known or number-one songs. He appreciated both up-and-coming artists and local artists.
This man was a true musicologist, as inquisitive as he was astute. He was aware of your influence.
He was a faithful companion. Whether you were the latest trend or the fad didn't matter to him. He simply gave a damn.
And that was important.
I've discussed the most lonely man in show business a lot.
The DJ, who shared the song's message with everyone who listened, was also incredibly human.

Because he cared, he used his voice to help the homeless and hungry.
His memory will live on with us, just as it will with everyone he touched. It is about you, about me, and about making the world a little kinder, wonder-filled place to live.
Pierre Robert is that man.
The renowned DJ at WMMR
He died last night while sleeping in Philadelphia.
He was fortunate to be on the station's air. Having him as a guide to his musical galaxy was a blessing for all of us.
And I was fortunate to have him as a friend.

  • Pierre, thank you.
